Abstraction Sketchbook

Inspired by Cy Twombly. I wrote some lyrics from 'Where Is My Mind?' by the pixies really neatly, then went crazy with wall paint and blue spray. Control = Chaos!

Inspired by Gary Hume. These are stencils of my fish, Loki and Thor, with some homemade rubber stamps dipped in red, yellow and white paint. I call it 'What Do You Call a Fish With No Eyes?'

This is the cafe wall illusion, first discovered by Dr. Richard Gregory in 1979. The lines are all completely straight but they look curvy. This is harder to draw than it looks!

I love Yves Klein. I just spray painted a plastic turtle to do this.

My page from Yorkshire Sculpture park on Sophie Ryder, these sculptures are so impressive in real life. The one on the right had dozens of what looked like toys attached to it everywhere.

This is a page from my book from the Hepworth. I didnt like this museum at all, it had massive open, white spaces and everything was really plain and formal, didnt feel comfortable at all.

My piece inspired by Jackson Pollack. All i did was put masking tape on some areas to catch more attention, then went crazy with red and yellow paint.

This is my Bridget Riley page. I've grown to love her and i've based a clay piece and a sample of veneering on her patterns.
