Based on one of my illustration from my own version of '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea', i made a banded mullet. I started with a wire skeleton then used mod roc to make a more solid shape. After that had dried, i ripped apart a Stephen King novel (which is why this fish is called King Stephen...), and used pva glue to cover it. I cut out a lot of circles to make scales, and to make the fins and tail, i sewed two pieces of paper together, making one pleated and overlapping. Very happy with the result!

New project; Homage to Books
For this project, i'm focussing on the book '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea' by Jules Verne. One of my outcomes is a diary of the journey. I took one of my dads old books and recreated my own version of the Jules Verne cover. I have illustrated lots of pictures of the animals and plants that Professor Aronnax saw on his journey round the world and labelled them according to where they were seen. I have also put dates and diary entries in as if it's the Professor's own diary.

Press Moulding
My press moulded vessel inspired by Bridget Riley's 'Fall'.
To start my press moulded vessel, i made loads of clay squiggles then put them into a mould. After i'd filled it, i knitted them together with a tool and used a kidney to make it smooth. I made another one the same way then scored the edges of both then pressed them together using slip. After that, i cleaned the edges and made a base and an opening in the vessel.

Abstraction Sketchbook
Inspired by Cy Twombly. I wrote some lyrics from 'Where Is My Mind?' by the pixies really neatly, then went crazy with wall paint and blue spray. Control = Chaos!
Inspired by Gary Hume. These are stencils of my fish, Loki and Thor, with some homemade rubber stamps dipped in red, yellow and white paint. I call it 'What Do You Call a Fish With No Eyes?'
This is the cafe wall illusion, first discovered by Dr. Richard Gregory in 1979. The lines are all completely straight but they look curvy. This is harder to draw than it looks!
I love Yves Klein. I just spray painted a plastic turtle to do this.
My page from Yorkshire Sculpture park on Sophie Ryder, these sculptures are so impressive in real life. The one on the right had dozens of what looked like toys attached to it everywhere.
This is a page from my book from the Hepworth. I didnt like this museum at all, it had massive open, white spaces and everything was really plain and formal, didnt feel comfortable at all.
My piece inspired by Jackson Pollack. All i did was put masking tape on some areas to catch more attention, then went crazy with red and yellow paint.
This is my Bridget Riley page. I've grown to love her and i've based a clay piece and a sample of veneering on her patterns.

Albert Sevenso
I found these ink cloud photos by Albert Sevenso
on thisiscolossal.com. Sam thinks they look like Ursula from The Little Mermaid but I think they look like ectoplasm, which makes it scary but beautiful.
I'm going to give it a try soon, watch this space!
Photoshop
Cafe wall illusion abstracted even more to look like a waterfall!
Two shapes, two colours (orange/blue, semi-circles/rectangles) on newspaper then swirled on photoshop.

Yorkshire Trip!
Yorkshire is full of Norrrveners and sculptures.
Alec Finlay - 'Propagator'.
There was a greenhouse full of these, I loved it!
Antony Gormley's 'One and Other'.
This makes me sad because he looks lonely and trapped!
This is called 'Personnage' by Miro. I like it because it's taken the form of
what seems to be a peacock and abstracted it.

Sophie Ryder
My most favourite sculptor ever. Her work really gets your attention, and not just because they're mostly naked lady rabbits.
